White Label WordPress Maintenance Package UK Mobile First Design

We have all heard talk of mobile SEO and how mobile devices are taking over traditional means of browsing the net.

Mobile ready websites also known as responsive in that the design of the site can adapt depending on the device your using is a hot topic at the moment.

Google Loves Responsive Design!

As Googe is the holy grail of everything search and SEO we will look at what Google is saying about mobile responsiveness and their rankings in Google search results.

Google is now using mobile friendliness as a search ranking signal.

This means if your site is mobile friendly you are already one step ahead of your competitors who don’t have a responsive website.

(Update: 22-6-18) Google is now focusing on mobile-first indexing. What this means is in the days of old, Google would crawl the desktop version of your site and often service that up as a search result.

Now that mobile is the primary device of many Google now uses mobile-first indexing. They will now index your mobile site or mobile version of your website over the desktop version.

If you are using a responsive design, meaning that your site adapts to any screen, then you have nothing to worry about. If however, you are using a separate mobile design you better be sure its top notch as Google will be serving this version over the desktop version in its rankings.

So what do you do?

Well if you’re with ThriveWP, we will make sure during the planning phase of your website creation that we talk about what your preferred theme is and ensure that it is mobile ready/responsive. We won’t allow any sites to go live with us that are not mobile ready.
